Development Goals

At Evergreen Christian Preschool, we care about children—your children. We are a fully accredited, early education program with curriculum designed to develop a well-rounded person. Evergreen Christian Preschool is AdvancED accredited. Though Evergreen Christian Preschool is religiously exempt from licensure, we self-regulate according to the Washington State regulations for early education programs.

Goals for Each Class

Three Years Old:

Social and Emotional Development 

  • Separates easily from parent
  • Accepts direction from teacher
  • Adjust to new situations
  • Plays and interacts with others
  • Communicates – language is progressing
  • Participates in circle time
  • Listens to and enjoys stories
  • Helps clean up
  • Listens during three-to-five minute circle time

Cognitive Skills

  • Knows first and last name
  • Recognizes name in print
  • Compares sizes
  • Knows colors: red, blue, green, purple, yellow, orange, black and brown
  • Identifies simple shapes: circle, square, triangle, rectangle
  • Counts to "5"
 

Creative Development

  • Participates in art activities
  • Expresses self through play
  • Participates in music activities

Motor Skills

  • Jumps
  • Balances on one foot
  • Walks on balance beam
  • Walks backward
  • Works simple puzzles
  • Uses scissors correctly
  • Holds crayon/pencil correctly (or what works for him/her now)

Four Years Old:

Spiritual Development
