Early Learning Overview


Evergreen Christian School’s Preschool provides an excellent education for children ages 2 to 5. Our goal is to provide a Christian worldview from which will come an understanding of life skills. Evergreen Christian Preschool offers a secure, nurturing, and engaging environment for children and families, all grounded in the Christian concept of love. Our aim is to encompass the whole preschool child spiritually, academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. We are honored to partner with families through their child’s exciting venture into preschool! 

We:

    • give opportunities to learn self-help skills in a loving space while gaining confidence and identity.

The program at our preschool is designed to develop a well-rounded person: mentally, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Classes include a variety of activities including music, crafts, fine and gross motor activities, and field trips along with P.E., library, and chapel for our TK students. Developing identity in Christ is emphasized in all we do.

Development Goals

Social & Emotional
    • Begins separating from parent/caregiver with support

Motor Skills
    • Runs, climbs, and jumps with both feet
    • Begins balancing briefly on one foot with support
    • Walks forward on a line or low balance beam with assistance

    • Completes simple inset or peg puzzles
    • Scribbles, makes simple marks, and begins using crayons with increasing control
    • Begins using child-safe scissors with assistance
